About Dan's Desires
Now, I have often been asked why I wrote Dan's book...hell do I need to be honest here, or should I totally lie? Okay, I'll tell you the truth...over the previous four books of writing Desires, I never really considered writing him into the serious until, I received a few e-mails and reviews that were coming through asking about Dan and how he felt during the series. I asked an author friend, if I should write about him, and her reply was 'you have nothing to loose'. From that point I tried thinking hard...literally, only when an idea came to mind, there was no-way it would work or captivate the reader without rambling on and on and on, and I know as a writer that doesn't hold the reader.
So, spending hours thinking about Dan and how I know the man inside and out...after all I had followed and written about him during four previous books. Who would know him better than me? Who created him? Who made him the man he became? Me. He hijacked my mind and body and at times I'll admit got me pretty saucy, and thinking naughty 'winks, winks and hitches eyebrows'. The hardest part was writing about him as a young man, getting inside his head with all that testosterone, I must have been seriously crazy, but as he invaded my mind and had me writing his story, I discovered more about the remarkable man, and how I watched him turn from a boy to a man.
The book follows his journey from being a young man to being a dad, married and running Desires the sex club. You establish and visit his heart breaking situations and how he had to deal with some remarkable events, leaving him destroyed and on the verge of losing his family. He had to remain strong, but sometimes staying strong is never that easy!
Yes, his book does take you into his past and to the present, but strangely enough, it works and Dan the man had his book written.
“I love you,” she said
while he placed his hand on her bump. “Are you okay?” she voiced while his mind
drifted away thinking about Sapphire and how she would love a baby brother or
sister. His daughter was missing out on so much, all
because of Angel.
“I’m okay, just
thinking,” he said, lowering his head, with a serious ache inside.
“Thinking about what?”
Stacie asked.
“Just silly thoughts.”
Stacie lifted off from
his lap and sat on the couch alongside him. “Spill.”
“Honestly, nothing to
tell.”
“I’ll be the judge of
that,” Stacie said.
“Ok…I was thinking about
Sapphire and how much I would like her to be in our baby’s life. She would love
it,” he said, unable to look at her because his heart
was aching.
“Oh, Dan,” Stacie said,
taking hold of his hand.
He turned to look at her
as a tear filled his eye.
“I am so sorry, I have no
idea what to say on the matter. Angel only thinks about herself and you know that. There would have been no thought or
consideration of her daughter’s feelings or taking her away from her father.
That woman is nothing but a bitch…makes me sick to the fact you had sex with
her.”
Dan looked at her
horrified. “I did what I did back then,” he said
snapping at her, suddenly angry. “I was young, stupid, and only thought with my
dick. How was I meant to know you would come along and change my life?” he said
as his heart shattered inside his chest.
“I don’t mean it like
that,” Stacie said.
Dan stood to his feet.
“Oh really? I am sick of this, I dare not even talk to you about Sapphire
without you bringing up that bitch and blaming me for being stupid,” he said
glaring down at her and noticed Stacie shrivelling up, looking terrified.
“I never meant it like
that…I am sorry, Dan,” she said.
“Yeah, well. Not the way
I see it. Yes, I was stupid for shagging her and fathering a child, but I did
and that is that. There is a little girl out there who has been taken from
seeing her father. How the hell is that justice?” he
said, his blood raging around his body needing to get the hell out the building
before he exploded and caused a bigger scene.
Leaving the restaurant, fuming. His blood was at
boiling point. He had to get away. He rushed out onto the patio to feel the
wind blowing his slicked back hair and wishing someone would help him in this
matter. He needed guidance, someone to show him the way and make him feel it
was not his fault. Dan loved Stacie but resented the fact she always blamed him
for sleeping with Angel. At the time he never thought much about it other than
when Stacie entered his life, then his world tipped upside down.Giveaway
