It gives me great pleasure to introduce and interview the fabulous Elle Brooks to my blog with "Promises Hurt" her debut novel and coming out later in the year book two (cannot wait).

BLURB

I wasn't planning on falling for Ethan Jamison, hell I wasn't planning on our paths ever crossing. He’s the most popular guy at school and a complete player. Me; I’m the perpetual good girl, trying to carry out one last request. But when you make a promise, how far do you go to see it through?

~ Blair

It’s a running joke that I’m a terrible liar, if only people knew the truth. My whole life has been spent making excuses and deflecting questions. I was pretty good at it until Blair Thomas entered my world. She saw through the mask that everyone is so willing to accept. She makes me want to tell her all my secrets, but can she promise to keep them?

~ Ethan

INTERVIEW

1/ Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I’m a mother, wife and serial book boyfriend cheater. Seriously, I fall in love with a new leading man at least twice a week. I’m a glass half full type of girl but only after 10:00 am - early mornings and I are not friends, and if I haven’t had a coffee fix as soon as I wake up, I’m not worth knowing!

2/ Please share 5 fun facts about yourself that most people don't know?

I love fresh strawberries, but can’t stand anything strawberry flavored.

3/ I can turn my eyelids inside out (Gross, I know).

I broke my ankle in a pair of high heels at 11years old, an hour after my mom told me I couldn’t wear them because I would break my ankles in them. (Damn why are mom’s always right!).

Extreme weather scares me.

I have a recurring dream that a tornado hits and I’m running around my house looking for the best place to anchor myself. I’ve had it for as long as I can remember.

4/ What was your ideal career when you were a child?

I wanted to be an Air Hostess, which now coincidentally would be my idea of the absolute worst job in the word. I hate flying.

5/ What inspired you to become an author?

I’ve had “write a novel” on my bucket list since being a teenager. I’ve always loved to read and once I discovered the indie world, I was hooked.

6/ When did you start writing?

I started writing Promises Hurt christmas 2013, It was never meant to be seen by anyone but me.

7/ What’s your favorite music?

I can’t give you a direct answer to that, my musical tastes are extremely eclectic. I love a little of everything except heavy metal. generally I play whatever suits the mood I’m in.

8/ How long does it take to write sex scenes?

Soooo long. I write them, read them back, blush like mad and then delete them and start again! The first scenes I write are often the “dirtiest” by the time I’ve shocked myself and rewritten them at least five times, they usually make it into the book.

9/ Where do you find writing inspiration?

Everywhere, I’m a people watcher so i’ll often notice someone and make up scenarios in my head about their lives. The places I travel, music I listen to, books I read all inspire me.

10/ Do you have a favorite writing snack?

No, but I ALWAYS have a coffee with me.

11/ Do you have any writing rituals?

Not really, is it weird that now you’ve highlighted that I want to start one?

12/ Do you prefer to write in silence or with music?

With music, but it has to be on very low.

13/ Where’s your favorite place to write?

In front of my window.

14/ What’s the best way to get over writer’s block?

Power through it, I write anything, even if I know its complete garbage because at some point i’ll hit the zone and the ideas will flow.

15/ Can you tell us about your current book, Promises Hurt:

Sure, It’s about, friendship, love and finding that someone that gets you completely. That person that you don’t have to wear a mask with, you can just be yourself.

Promises Hurt isn’t a sunshine and flowers book. There are plenty of funny and lighthearted parts, but it  touches on serious issues also. Many of my readers messaged me once they had finished the book saying that it had their emotions thrown about as if they were on a rollercoaster.

16/ What can readers expect next from you?

The conclusion!

17/ What do you think makes a good story?

The “FEELS” I love any book that can evoke a strong reaction out of me. I live for the books that make me feel.

18/ What is your favorite all time book?

That’s like asking me to pick a favourite child! I can’t do it. I can give you maybe three…

Me before you - JoJo Moyes

The First Last Kiss - Ali Harris

Maybe Someday - Colleen Hoover

The Opportunist - Tarryn Fisher

Unteachable - Leah Raeder

Taking Chances - Molly McAdams

Okay so I know that’s not three, I just love so many books.

19/ Other than writing, what are some of your passions in life?

I love to run, read and anything that involves having fun with my family :)

20/ If you were deserted on an island, who or what would you have to have?

Channing Tatum and a LARGE bottle of baby oil!

21/ If you could have any superpower what would you choose?

Invisibility, no wait…. the ability to teleport, scratch that nope, definitely invisibility. The perving and mischief you could cause is endless.

Thank you so much Elle for visiting me!

Please welcome Madison Sevier to my blog promoting her latest release "Natural Lust".

Blurb

Kallie Masters has spent the past seven years becoming a renowned reviewer, foregoing any romantic entanglements for the sake of her job. Good or bad, she is highly respected by her readers and peers. But when an arrogant author sends death threats in response to Kallie’s scathing review of his latest novel, her boss sends her on a weekend getaway.
Kallie’s mountaintop respite is shattered when she runs into Hank Fogle with his drop-dead gorgeous eyes and frat-boy attitude. Denying the unmistakable chemistry between them, Kallie steels herself against the attraction, determined to remain aloof and free of the mess this man would surely bring into her life.
Can the magic of the Smokies allow her to let things flow naturally between them or will she fall into a lustful trap that will only break her heart in the end?

Teaser:
“That’s right. Just walk away. Don’t worry about me. Don’t offer to pay for what you did. No worries, I will handle it myself. Just like I always do.” Kallie proceeded to pack up her soaked belongings and muttered about inconsiderate, senseless jerks.
The man turned around asking, “Pay for what?”
“Oh, now you want to know? Well, Mr. Pool God, if I must repeat myself again, you ruined my laptop and my e-reader. They are currently full of the water you so kindly sent cascading over them and me.” Kallie pointed to the chaise lounge she’d occupied, still soaked and sitting in a puddle.
“What are you talking about? Do you always talk in riddles?”
Ugh, men!. "Listen, just be a gentleman and at least offer to pay for the damages.”
“Me? Why? You’re the one who brought the gadgets to a pool. Did you ever stop to think that might not be the best idea?”
The man grabbed a towel from a nearby bench and began wiping down each and every kissable inch of skin on his body. Kallie could see him as one of those guys in the shaving cream commercials on TV. Lean, rock-hard abs, asses women long to claw and that irritated her even more. The guy ruined her things and he was a jerk. Plain and simple! What the hell was she thinking getting all hot and bothered by some strange, laptop-murdering flake?

Hello all, firstly thank you for visiting me on my blog and I hope you take the time to look at my books and possibly purchase.

Now every month I am signed up with many other wonderful authors to talk about writing and the phenomenal journey that comes with it. Now promoting is one of the major attributes to being an author and sometimes doing this can prove harder than writing a book, just gathering the audience and making sure your book gets around in the big wide world. We all need to work as a team and help each other as much as possible.

Please come on over and join the Curious Bluster team and discover new authors and new books, with many different genre's to choose from.

My post for August was talking about Research

All writers need to do some form of research for a novel they are about to write, whether its location, your character, jobs, or lifestyle to help make the novel more constructive and give vision to the reader. Research gives the writer teeth, gives it vital impact and makes it believable. Some research can be harder in one book and simple in another, depending on the intensity of the book or how deep you take it. I recently had to research Intensive care, although myself I have been in such a situation, being the patient, but it was more looking at the angle from the partners eyes, seeing the equipment that can be very alarming, the sounds of the machines, sounding frightening and worrying intensively about your loved one, all had to be a contributing factor. Let alone, when the patient finally, woke, that bit I could write from experience, never an easy task, but written from the heart, which can always make book even better. We as writers don’t always know everything, and it’s vital that we learn, knowledge, resource and give the valuable time to gather information in our writing time.

I myself have many different sources for gathering information to help charge my creative juices, firstly once the idea comes into my head, it’s developing that character, getting vision and locating that very person you can see in your mind, I use Pinterest, Google, Facebook, magazines. I was sat at work one shift and a service user has a daily newspaper that comes with a magazine and there was a female in there that I saw, liked the look of and was perfect for the look of the character and therefore, I asked the service user if I could have the picture, and she agreed, knowing I am a writer out of work, she felt she contributed to my novel, she did, the main character. Places I have visited, with the resources of doing a little back ground of the surrounding perimeter, although being a writer we also have the freedom to put things in place, eg, the location of the hall I used recently in my WIP, was the hall and its spectacular land, only on the farmland next to the hall was a large barn belonging to another, I moved the barn onto the halls land, we all shift things to make the book more adventurous and after all we all need that extra spice.

Other guides of research, read, read and read, and write, write and write after all we all learn from each other and develop our knowledge, it can be fun or hard, but the harder the more challenging and also can be made a better read

No matter what you are researching, happy researching!

Go on take a look with many authors talking about all different kinds of things, you might even learn something, from punctuation to editor, to book covers, their journey and even talks about the hero's and heroines, and much. much more ;-)

"Right. I think we need to get in our outfits," suggested Bailey.
Stacie made her way over to the wardrobe where she had hung up her dress.
Chrissie and Bailey stopped Stacie in her tracks. They removed her towel with her only wearing a thong underneath. She quickly covered her exposed boobs and then felt them, wrapping a pink corset around her upper body and tightly squeezed her into it, making her gasp for breathe. "Am I allowed to breathe?" she managed to say, as Bailey released the corset and she let out a loud wheeze.
Once she was tucked inside the corset, giving her breathing space, they added a small girlie pink tutu. Stacie could not believe it! She stared in the full-length mirror and saw not much covered, even her boobs plunged out the top of the corset. However, she did look terribly sexy. She wagged her brows feeling like a teenager.
Then came the banner that they placed on her saying "bride-to-be" that had many badges hung from it with naughty suggestions, "kiss my butt" "hot stuff" "last night for a quickie". Stacie blushed not feeling too comfortable with a few statements, but crocked her head to the side and decided, what harm would it do? Then to finish the outfit they placed a tiara on top of her head completing the look with black shoes. She looked great and laughed to what they had made her look like.
They all finished their glasses of champagne and afterward made their way to the heart of Desires. Bailey had her arm wrapped securely around Stacie’s left arm dragging her along the corridor of the club singing and chanting. Seeing one woman wearing only a thong, the woman walked passed and Stacie turned around to see the thong gapped up her crack. She giggled. The girls carried on. Stacie looked down at her outfit, feeling sexy in her very revealing get-up. Maybe it was a tad too much, but this was her last weekend of being free and she wanted to enjoy every minute of it. Bailey was dressed in a pink short dress with a slight V-neck to her
boobs her hair straight and her eyes looked beautiful. Chrissie was dressed in a pink top and a black skirt, her red hair pinned with tight curls atop of her head.
"Right missies," Chrissie began. "Last weekend of freedom and we are going to make sure you are a naughty girl." She looked directly at Stacie.
The girls laughed and sang their way down the

Please Welcome a fellow Author of Secret Cravings Publishing to my blog  Harper A. Brooks with her release His Haven, with an interview and excerpt.

INTERVIEW

Hello Harper, thank you so much for guesting on my blog today, lets learn a little about you,

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

-Well, I'm a paranormal/historical romance author, as well as a volunteer softball coach, avid crocheter, and recently college graduate all rolled into one.

What was your ideal career when you were a child?

-When I was a child, I actually wanted to be a doctor. My grandfather suffered with severe diabetes, and all I wanted to do was cure him. It wasn't until I was in seventh grade that my plans changed, and I found my love for writing. My ideal career turned from medical into publications.

What inspired you to become an author?

-I used to HATE to read. It wasn't until the Harry Potter explosion that I discovered my love for all things reading and writing. I love the way Rowling created a new world, a new universe, and I wanted to do the same.

When did you start writing?

-Seventh grade. Actually in school. I would bring a notebook into class and write whenever I got five seconds.

Do you consider yourself a plotter, or pantser or a hybrid?

-I guess I'm a hybrid (I will admit, I had to google what a pantser was...). I plan scenes, not really plot, and then I work towards that. I like to ride the plot roller coaster, too. Let my characters make things happen and surprise me. So, a little bit of both.

What do you think your career would be if you weren't a writer?

-I actually went to school to be an high school English teacher. I guess that's where I would be if I didn't want to go into writing/publishing.

How long does it take to write sex scenes?

-Oh my goodness. His Haven had my first attempt at sex scenes in it. I was terrified, but it didn't take me long to complete at all. Editing...That's another story.

Do you have any writing rituals?

-Rituals, no...but if I'm handwriting, I NEED a purple pen. Purple isn't even my favorite color! My favorite color is red. Weird, right? Purple just writes better than other pens, in my opinion.

What’s the best way to get over writer’s block?

-I'm currently in a writer's block actually, but what usually helps me is talking about my plot with other authors. Bouncing ideas off friends and just brainstorming.

What scene for you was the hardest to write and how did you overcome that obstacle?

-In His Haven, the hardest scene, I would say, was the opening scene. I always struggle with first chapters. They're so important! But I want to skip them and get to all my other ideas. His Haven's first chapter was originally one page long! I just wrote something down so that I could jump into the actually story. Then, I went back and rewrote it.

Please describe the hero and heroines attributes. What is your hero and heroine like?

-His Haven takes place in the mid 1800s, so think elaborate gowns, jewelry, parties, and strict manners. My hero, Avrum Brenin, is not like normal alpha romance heroes. I wanted to create a hero who becomes a romance hero—he doesn't start out that way. I really wanted to show his transition. He starts out diligent to his creator, Lord Henri, blinded and loyal, but by the end of the novel, he is independent, strong, and a true leader.

My heroine, Haven, is the aristocrat Lord Henri wants her to be. She was born into poverty and can survive on her own. She has a sharp tongue, is strong willed, and determined to leave Greystone Manor no matter what.

Can you tell us about your current book, His Haven, The Redemption Series: Book One?

-His Haven:

Set in nineteen century England and is the first novel of a series of three.

After a deadly fire consumes his family's farm, handsome and diligent Avrum Brenin should have died along with his mother and older brother. Instead, he is saved by the powerful and wealthy immortal, Lord Henri. Placed under his care, Avrum shares in his world of endless splendors. He must do one thing in return--look after Haven, a human girl.

Ripped away from her home, Haven is thrust into Lord Henri's lap and under Avrum's watchful eye. She is forced to play the part of Lord Henri's new charity, but the truth of her capture lays hidden beneath the bracelets on her wrists and the high collars of her gowns. She knows that in this world love cannot exist. There is danger all around, and the only desire she has is to escape.

What made you write ‘this’ story?

-This was my first attempt at paranormal romance. I use to write historical fiction before this, but I was challenged by a fellow writer to try paranormal romance. So I did. I just combined historical elements to it.

What can readers expect next from you?

-I am writing His Haven's sequel, Patterns in the Ivy, which is about Lysander, Avrum's silent and tortured friend. I'm also working on a new series about the origins of shifters. The first novel is titled, The Hunt, and features Cara and Kael—giant cat shifters. I LOVE this story so far. I already have three books planned for the series.

What does your family and friends think about your writing paranormal romances?

-I always get that one eyebrow raised look at first—that “uh huh, that's what you're into” look. But when people read His Haven and say how much they enjoyed it, even the sexy parts, the look changes to a slight, satisfied smirk.

What is your favorite all time book?

-Sense and Sensibility. I am a HUGE Jane Austen fan. I even took my final English college seminar on all her books and loved every minute of it. I wrote a doctorate-esqe paper on her for the hell of it. So maybe “huge” fan doesn't cover my obsession. When people talk about Austen, they usually mention Pride and Prejudice as their favorite book, but I liked Sense and Sensibility more. I just connected with Elinor Dashwood right away.

Other than writing, what are some of your passions in life?

-As I mentioned before, I crochet. I taught myself during my last year in school to calm myself during finals. I love creating things and giving them as gifts. I also am passionate about softball. I played for thirteen years and coached for five. I think the sport will always be a part of me.

BLURB:
Ignorance isn’t always bliss…
Handsome and diligent Avrum Brenin should have died in the fire with his mother and older brother. Instead, he is saved by the powerful and wealthy immortal, Lord Henri. Placed under his care, Avrum shares in his world of endless splendors. He must do one thing in return—look after Haven, a human and Lord Henri’s newest rescue.
The simple task proves to be more complicated than it seems. Haven is disobedient, ungrateful, and hostile, yet she is beautiful and mystifying at the same time. One night, when Avrum stumbles across Haven barely clothed and bound at the wrists, the world he has trusted in unravels before his eyes. He soon discovers that no one—from Lord Henri and Haven to his closest friend, Lysander—are who they seem to be.
Now faced with the truth, will Avrum choose to surrender to the man who rescued him, or will he have the courage to save the woman who captivated him?
EXCERPT:
Avrum stared at her for a long while, saying nothing. Slowly, his eyes returned to their normal soft brown color. He released her wrists, and his attention dropped to her parted lips. Haven remained still as his hand slid down her arm and entangled in her hair. His mouth pressed against hers with such desperation that it stole her breath away. She could feel his body soften against hers, the anger gone. His tongue ran along the seam of her lips, and she opened for him, enjoying the little explosions of heat that spread throughout her body in every place his skin touched.
He took his time kissing her, his movements never rough, but tender and full of need. Then, he released her lips and pressed his forehead against hers. Her breath came in short, quick gasps as he looked down at her. “I would never do any of those terrible things to you,” Avrum whispered to her, “because I am not like him.”
“I know,” she said softly. “I should have never said it.”
“I would never do anything to hurt you. I need you here, Haven. I need you here with me.”
Haven’s heart clenched. He wasn’t like Henri at all. His touches were gentle and slow. She wondered how she could ever compare the two. There was no fear, no pain with him. Haven tilted her chin and captured his mouth with hers again. He kissed her with just as much fervor as before, which made her knees weak and her head swim. A pleasant hum coursed through her, and the desire to feel him closer to her became overwhelming. She wanted him. She wanted him more than anything else.
Avrum’s hand ran up her back, causing her to arch forward and press more into his hard chest. His lips traveled along her jaw. A small whimper escaped her. She could feel his fingers grasping the strings at the nape of her neck. He pulled them until the knot gave way. His hand moved along her shoulder, taking the thin cotton material of the nightgown with it.
Haven twisted her hips, heat pooling at her center. Her nightgown slid down her arms, settling around her hips. The cool attic air kissed her newly exposed flesh, and it wasn’t long before Avrum’s hands were on her again, cupping her breasts and running up and down her flat belly. Haven almost cried out from the sheer pleasure of it.
She knotted her hands in his shoulder-length hair, the tie falling away. She had never felt anything like this before. It felt like her skin was crawling with electricity and simplest touch could send her over the edge.
