Hi there! I`m so happy to be here. I`d like to thank Holly for inviting me! My name is V.L Locey and I`m a mulitgenre erotic romance author.
I`m also a wife, mother, rabid New York Rangers fan, caretaker of two cats, one dog, Mooka the Jersey steer, a flock of chickens, several geese, one duck. And a pig named Abe.

Pigs are so darn cute! We used to raise dairy goats as well, but since my daughter is heading off to college in the fall, we`ve sold the goats. Not that my days aren`t busy now that the goats are gone! I thought I`d give you a peek at a day in the life of an author/hockey fan/small farmer.

My day begins around 5 a.m. during the week. That`s when my husband leaves for work. I then slap around like an extra on The Walking Dead, slurping coffee until I`m coherent enough to shower. Morning chores come next. My husband does the steer and pig before he leaves for work, so I do the poultry. Feeding, filling the waterers,  and then turning the geese out for the day. Generally I let the chickens out after lunch. Then it`s back inside, roust the teenager, grab a bagel with some cream cheese, and get the child out the door on time. Then it`s time to fire up the laptop and get crackalackin`. Most generally I begin writing at 8, go until 11, have lunch, and then return to work for another couple hours.

After my rump is numb and my fingers cramped, I hustle about doing my housewife chores, make dinner, feed the dog and the rest of the menagerie, then either sit down to read or watch hockey. When I`m feeling plucky I`ll do an hour of evening edits. If there is work to be done on a manuscript that my editor is waiting on, I`ll do a couple of hours of editing before I turn on hockey. Bedtime comes when the game is over for the most part. I don`t write in the evening. My thoughts are fresher and crisper in the morning. Right now I`m working on doing the first round edits on the third Wildcat book in the evening. My mornings are filled with writing book five for my Wildcat ladies and their sexy gents.

What time of day do you find to be your most productive? I`d love to hear about it! How about a blurb and an excerpt from A Most Unlikely Countess, my latest novel written with the morning sun shining on me?

Painfully shy Liz Argon probably shouldn`t be dreaming of Veikko Aho, star goalie for the Philadelphia Wildcats. As she works side by side with 'The Count of the Crease' on his memoirs, she finds herself falling for the handsome goaltender. His tender ways with her and her mentally fragile mother are slowly claiming her heart. If only Veikko wasn`t already engaged to a woman far better suited to move in to 'The Count`s' world. In book two of the To Love a Wildcat series, we`ll see if a glass slipper can survive in the rough and tumble world of professional ice hockey.

 ~*~

Excerpt

After the hour of soaps, I left my mother to find Veikko. I located him in his study just down the hall. Tapping nervously on the door I waited until he called for me to enter. Cracking the door just wide enough for me and my iPad to slip through, I stood inside, tablet over my breasts, eyes roaming over the interior. Dark paneling, heavy furniture in blues and hunter greens, trophy cases filled with golden cups, silver pucks, and all sorts of memorabilia. Veikko was standing by a case of glass that held hockey sweaters from days gone by as well as old sticks, his attention on the winds buffeting the window.

“What did you need, Elizabeth?” he asked, slowly turning his head to look at me. I held up my tablet.

“I thought maybe we could lay out some basic stuff, you know? Like what you wanted to cover, who I should talk to and not talk to. How personal you plan to get. Are you naming names? Getting down and dirty? I mean, have you ever read Slash`s autobiography? He talks about sharing girls with…”

“What exactly is it that plagues your mother`s mind?” he asked. I stiffened instantly, my iPad dropping down to rest beside my lacy black skirt.

“I can`t send her back home alone.”

He shook off the dark miasma that seemed to be clinging to him. “I didn`t ask you to.” He stalked to his desk, put his well-crafted rump to the edge, and leveled cool blue eyes at me as his arms folded over his chest.

I bet any player getting that intense blue stare through that goalie mask of his thought twice about trying their luck. Then again, the past few games had been terrible messes, so maybe the opposing players weren`t spellbound by Veikko`s gaze. Perhaps that was only me. “Please, don`t stand there looking as if I am about to attack you. It makes me uncomfortable. Sit down,” he grunted, nodding at two chairs that faced his desk. I had to slide around his powerful legs to get to a chair. I sat down stiffly and began masticating a hank of hair. He flicked it away from my lips.

“Now,” the man said, his voice bouncing off the paneling, “What is your mother`s condition? Does she need a doctor to check on her weekly?” he inquired; his accent making “check” sound like “shek.”

“No, I mean, if we were home she would but since we`re here she`ll be okay. We`re good.” I stared at the denim covering his knees. It seemed the safest thing to look at. If I glanced higher…well, I`d be tongue-tied or worse, red-faced. “So about the book?”

I thought he was going to say something more about Mom but he didn`t. “Yes, the book.” He exhaled deeply. “I think tomorrow you could come with me to practice to talk to some of the players?”

“Okay, yeah, that`s good.” I flipped my tablet over, fired it up then opened up a new file and Word document. Balancing the iPad on my knee I began typing down ideas for questions. “I was thinking that maybe we could flip-flop the chapters. Like, open with you and your youth, right? And then go with some interviews with people that knew you when you were a kid. Like your parents, sisters, teachers, coaches from when you were in youth hockey up until you were – what?”

I picked my head up to look at him, his soft chuckle drawing me from my hastily typed notes.

“Did you research me?” he asked, clearly surprised yet obviously pleased.

“Well, I Googled you, sure,” I said feeling like a stalker or something, “I mean, I can`t come into this assignment only knowing you`re tall, good-looking, half-Finnish and half-Swedish, and drive a fancy car, can I?”

“No, I suppose not.” He shook his head. I sniffed haughtily and dropped my sight back to my tablet. “And I thank you for thinking I`m good-looking. I think you are very pretty as well. So, yes, I like that idea. Let`s do the book like that. I will call my family tonight and set up phone time for interviews. My coaches back in Helsinki will be more…”

Yes, he was talking. I should have been paying attention, but my brain had leaped on the ‘You`re very pretty’ comment like an alley cat finding a half-eaten tuna hoagie.

There is only one condition; her contract states emotional attraction between tutor and student is forbidden. Stacie is fine with that; her heart is so battered she has no desire to give it to anyone else.

Then she meets her instructor, Dan. Instantly attracted, at first Stacie thinks it will help to make her sexually comfortable with him. But when she realises she is falling in love, she can’t tear herself away, contract or no. Stacie knows that, no matter how kind and caring Dan appears, he’s just doing his job. Can Stacie overcome her own Desires and walk away?

Review from Fan

Story had me hooked from the beginning, a innocent downtrodden female who falls for her experienced but young tutor and then you find yourself willing him to feel the same about her as she does him and so the story has you wanting to know more - i've heard there are more books to come in this series and i cannot wait to read them - especially if they are as good as this..

She shivered and inched closer to him. He matched her movement until they were both

kneeling up on the bed, their torsos crushed together. His hand was on the back of her head, hers

were trailing up his back under his jacket. They deepened the kiss, their tongues playing catch-meif-

you-can until Stacie was quite breathless.

She pulled away, just for a second. His eyes devoured her. She put her hands beneath the front

of his jacket and pushed it off his shoulders, tossing it onto the floor beyond the bed. He pulled her

back to him and kissed her deeply, one hand tiptoeing down her leg to pull up the skirt of her dress.

She felt his fingers on her bare thigh, then both hands on her bottom, pulling her close.

He sat back on his heels and sat her down so she knelt straddling his thighs on the bed. She

could feel his erection pressing for her attention beneath his dress trousers. Tremors of arousal shot

through her pussy and she trembled in his arms.

She wanted him now, yet wanted it to last. He cupped her face in his hands, stroking her cheeks

with his thumbs. He kissed her forehead, then her nose, then both cheeks. He moved across to her

ear, licking delicately around the earlobe and nibbling with gentle teeth before kissing down her

neck and across one bare shoulder. She hooked her arms loosely around his shoulders and let her

head hang back as he continued down toward her breasts. He nuzzled her cleavage, seeming to

breathe in her scent. One hand caressed a breast, pushing it up to meet his eager lips, while the other

explored under her dress, just brushing her moist mound with his thumb. She wriggled on his lap

and cried out, grinding her pussy into his bulge.

Dan brought his head back up, kissing her deeply, his hand still exploring her breasts. Stacie

untied his bow-tie and began to fumble at his shirt buttons, undoing them as quickly as she could.

He quickly shucked the shirt, exposing his flawless chest. In return, he unzipped her dress and

pulled it down to her waist. She knelt up on the bed and pulled it down further before sliding her

legs out. Dan tossed it onto the floor and sat back, looking at her.

Thrown together by fate, twisted together by lust. Will Josh be able to overcome his reluctance to commit before it is too late?

“Have you even slept yet?” he asked, his gaze turning darker as he studied her face.

Sammy swallowed and shook her head weakly. “No, not yet. I can’t seem to fall asleep.” She wondered how she could feel so tired, so weary, yet wide awake at the same time.

Josh swore loudly and moved to her.

Sammy watched as he climbed onto the bed, his big body making the mattress dip under his bulky weight. He threaded his arm under her neck slowly and drew her into his arms. At first Sammy was stiff and confused, but the more he stroked her hair and kissed the top of her head, the more Sammy found she relaxed. The pain receded slightly, freeing up her mind and Sammy was able to catch her breath again.

“You don’t have to do this,” she said weakly, but Josh just tightened his arm around her, making sure Sammy rested her cheek on his chest. His heartbeat was a strong sound under her ear and Sammy reveled in the heat his massive body gave off. They lay in silence for a couple of minutes, and Sammy would have thought it would be awkward, but the way he held her, gently, yet sure and strong, had Sammy sinking closer and closer to the comfort he offered.

“When I was a kid, I broke my arm.” Josh began, breaking the lazy silence. His deep voice was a lovely rumble against her ear. Sammy smiled and closed her eyes as she listened to him speak, the sound of his words a balm to her nerves, a welcome distraction to her pain. “I was climbing trees with my brother, and as usual, Tony was faster and better at it than me.”

Sammy chuckled at the image. Tony was a stocky, slightly overweight man, she couldn’t imagine him climbing a tree, let alone fast.

Josh huffed a small sound and stroked his hand idly over Sammy’s arm. Sammy loved the feeling of his hot, calloused hand as it petted her, the feeling was comforting … nice. She stayed still and kept her eyes closed, and she hoped he wouldn’t stop talking, or stroking.

“You might laugh, sweetheart, but in his day, before kids and a wife, Tony was the coolest lad in town.” Sammy smiled against his chest, her mind slowly relaxing, the pain less, and all she could concentrate on was the sound of Josh’s lovely, sexy voice. Especially when he uttered the easy word, sweetheart. No one ever used an endearment for her, and she found she liked it, a lot.

“I heard how women ruin good men.” Sammy said teasingly, even as she yawned against his chest.

“They certainly do.” Josh replied.

Sammy heard the catch in Josh’s voice, and she suddenly remembered what she’d been told about him being jilted last year. The reminder sent a strange tense feeling through her body, leaving a cold pain in her lungs. But Sammy, selfishly, didn’t want to ruin the only time she had ever been comforted in such a nice way, so she changed the subject back to safer grounds.

“So, how did you break it?” Sammy asked sleepily, eager for him to continue talking. She snuggled a little closer to Josh’s heat and sighed, contented.

Josh cleared his throat, but continued his gentle stroking of her arm. He kissed the top of her head again and Sammy felt tiredness swarm her mind. She yawned and sighed deeply, sleepiness making her heavy and relaxed.

“Go to sleep, Sammy, and I’ll tell you when you wake up.”

Please Welcome Palessa to my blog with her latest release Unchained Hearts, please sit back and relax and read her excerpt.

***BIO***

Palessa started reading her first romance novel, at the age of 11. Then she got introduced to V.C. Andrews, Barbara Taylor Bradford, Anne Rice and many more notable contemporary authors as well as some of the classics, A Tale of Two Cities, Their Eyes Were Watching God, The Great Gatsby and others. It was during her teenage years that she dabbled in writing. First, it was in her diaries, then she started creating characters, stories about romance, the supernatural and much more. Being an I.B. student as well as entering college, left little time for writing and so she put it and the ideas aside to pursue a career. It would take almost 20 years, a radical move from the city she grew up in, Miami, FL back to her Caribbean birthplace, and a chance Facebook meeting with Sable Hunter to start the juices flowing again. After some fits and starts, the Baxter Family Saga was born. Unchained Hearts is Palessa's first published fiction book with Beau Coup Publishing. She considers herself just a storyteller that sees no reason to shy away from the juicier romantic elements. She currently lives in the mountains of Jamaica with her crazy, cracker-munching-mutt Ivy and a farm, primarily managed by agribusiness partner, also known as Dad.

**EXCERPT****

When she finally got her ticket, she stood at the door, digging through her purse. Just as she reached for the handle, her hand touched someone else's. She looked up at him and felt a sudden jolt through her body. Their eyes locked for what seemed like an eternity.

Virgilia was suddenly lost in his warm emerald green eyes. He looked at her brown eyes and caught his breath.
"After you," he said, as she suddenly remembered where she was and why.

"Thank you," she managed to get out as she walked through the door he held open.

Neither of them had ever felt that way before and didn't know what to make of it. Was it a case of static? It felt a little too good to be just a random shock.

Virgilia tried to shake it off as she made her way into the theater. It was packed and she craned her head to find a possible seat. There were a couple of vacancies close to the front. Virgilia hated being that close to the screen, but as the saying goes, beggars can't be choosers. She found a seat and relaxed a bit. Not long after, her green-eyed doorman sat next to her.

"I'm not following you," he said, grinning at the look of surprise on her face. "This is just the only seat which seems to be left"

"Don't worry. I didn’t think you were following me"

"Why not? Aren't you worth following?" he flashed Virgilia a devastating smile which made her blush. Before she could even think of an answer, the lights dimmed.

She felt him lean in to her "We will continue this discussion later." Her stomach shivered as she cleared her throat and focused on the screen.

Throughout the movie, the audience’s reaction just heightened the tension of the scenes. Virgilia had no idea how big this shark was, but she knew the next time she decided to go to the beach, she would definitely rethink it.

A couple of times, the movie made her jump, much to the amusement of her doorman.

"Don't worry, Precious," he whispered. "I'll protect you"

Virgilia felt the pit of her stomach flutter when he called her "precious." If it were any other man, she would have been offended, even threatened. With him, it felt natural to hear him to call her that and she didn't even know his name.

When the movie ended, she stared at the screen, reading the credits. When she turned to glance at him, he was gone. Virgilia felt a pang of disappointment.

As she exited the theater, she felt a presence behind her. She turned to see him smiling at her.

"You never did answer my question. Don't you think you're worth following?"

"I will only answer questions from men whose names I know."

"Fair enough" he said as he extended his hand "My friends call me Cass."

"I'm Virgilia," she said as she shook his hand

"That's quite a name. I think I'll call you 'Lila' for short."Normally she hated it when people called her by some modification of her name, but this one seemed different. "Do you often change the name of the people you meet to suit yourself?"

"Only the special ones."

Virgilia felt her cheeks get hot and her stomach do backflips. No stranger had ever made her feel so at ease.

For his part, Cass was fascinated by this vision he saw before him. There was something about this woman, a light, a fire which drew him in and made him want to lose himself in those gorgeous brown eyes. He’d never felt anything like it before and was not going to let this opportunity pass him by.

"Yes," Virgilia said, suddenly.

"Yes, to Lila?"

"That too, but I meant the answer to your question." Cass looked a little lost and then she said, "I am worth following."

Cass felt his heart flip as he grinned. "Shall we?" he said offering his arm.

They walked around and talked for what felt like minutes, but turned out to be hours as evening turned to dusk. Virgilia's face hurt from smiling so much; she couldn't recall the last time she had such fun by herself or with anyone.

Cass found her smart and witty and even more beautiful than when he’d opened the door for her. He had met some stunning women in his life, but tonight, they seemed merely passable compared to Lila.

"It's getting late." She said "I had better get home"

"I'll walk you." he announced.

"No, I don't live too far from here."

He held his hand up. "I'm not letting any woman walk alone at night anywhere, no matter how close she lives."

They’d only just met, but the look on his face said he wasn't going to take ‘no’ for an answer. She thought better of starting an argument as they slowly made it to the gate of her house.

"Well, this is me," she said.

He nodded and looked at the house. It was small, modest, and held a bit of charm with the low white fence separating it from the house next door.

"Cass, I had a wonderful time."

"So did I," Cass said as his gaze moved from her eyes to her lips. "I want to do it again."

Virgilia wanted the same, but she had to be practical. "Maybe we should leave it at tonight."

Cass looked Virgilia straight in the eyes with a determination he felt deep within him. He was not used to hearing the word ‘no’ from a woman. But from this woman, the thought of not seeing her after tonight was completely unacceptable. "I don't believe you believe that. I can see it in your eyes…"

Amazing Isobelle Cate

I am privileged to welcome a wonderful friend and co-author Isobelle Cate to my blog. I have had the privilege of meeting and working with her and I will admit she is very supportive, I would be lost without her. Isobelle described in three words, passionate, dedicated and unique.

About Isobelle:

Isobelle Cate is a woman who wears different masks.  Mother-writer, wife-professional, scholar-novelist.  Currently living in Manchester, she has been drawn to the little known, the secret stories, about the people and the nations:  the English, the Irish, the Scots, the Welsh, and those who are now part of these nations whatever their origins.  Her vision and passion are fuelled by her interest and background in history and paradoxically, shaped by growing up in a clan steeped in lore, loyalty, and legend.

Isobelle is intrigued by forces that simmer beneath the surface of these cultures, the hidden passions, unsaid desires, and yearnings unfulfilled.

Blurb for Rapture at Midnight:

There is an on-going war between two breeds of immortal warriors who carry human, vampire, and werewolf blood, the Cynn Cruor and the Scatha Cruor. The Cynn Cruor want to live in harmony with human race. The Scatha Cruor want to enslave them.

Finn Qualtrough, a Cynn Cruor warrior is on a mission to find Dac Valerian, the leader of the Scatha Cruor responsible for the deaths of many including that of his parents. When he pursues three Scatha Cruor warriors who can lead him to Dac, he happens upon a woman who awakens a desire to claim her as his own.

She is the very essence of his immortal life.

Eirene Spence is an insomniac and a computer genius who loves walking in the park at midnight. She stumbles upon the Scatha Cruor and is almost killed until a handsome stranger rescues her.  His touch ignites a hunger inside her that only he can satisfy.

He is her soul.

By some twist of fate, one of Eirene’s clients is Dac Valerian. She is able to tell Finn and the rest of the Cynn Cruor where Dac is hiding. Now Dac wants her dead.

Will Finn be able to keep Eirene alive and at the same time fulfill his mission? Will Eirene’s wish to be part of Finn’s life come true knowing that he is destined for someone else?

Blurb

Picking up where Book 1, Rapture at Midnight, left off – Book 2 in “The Cynn Cruor Bloodline Series”

When Roarke catches a glimpse of Deanna in Dac Valerian’s club, he searches for her in the streets of Manchester just to prove that he hasn’t lost his mind. He is unable to believe Deanna is alive when he’d buried her himself nearly five hundred years before. But when Deanna turns up on the street facing the Cynn Cruor’s headquarters, Roarke needs to know why she’s hid herself from him all these years.

Knowing her secret can only destroy whatever feelings Roarke has left for her, Deanna remains silent until circumstances force her to reveal everything.
Hearts are broken on both sides, but Roarke and Deanna have to work together if they are to find a way of ending Dac and the Scatha Cruor’s power once and for all.

Desire rises and passions are rekindled.
Will their pursuit of Dac lead to another chance at happiness?
Or will it forever tear them apart?
